Hazardous Location Certification & Installation Notice

Certification Scope
The camera housing is certified as an Ex component enclosure under IECEx, ATEX, and UL hazardous location schemes. The enclosure is evaluated as an empty enclosure and is not intended to be used as a standalone certified device. Final system certification is dependent upon proper integration of internal components and field installation in accordance with applicable standards.

System Integration Responsibility
Final compliance of the assembled camera system is the responsibility of the system integrator and installer. All internal components installed within the enclosure must be suitable for the intended hazardous location and must not adversely affect the protection concepts of the certified enclosure.

Installation Requirements
To retain certification integrity, installation must include:

  • Proper grounding to minimize electrostatic discharge
  • Use of certified cable glands, conduit fittings, sealing fittings, and close-up plugs with equivalent protection types (Ex db / Ex tb) and a minimum IP66 rating
  • Installation in accordance with IEC 60079 series standards, applicable national codes, and manufacturer installation instructions

Certification Limitations
Modifications, substitutions, or improper installation may invalidate the hazardous location certification of the final assembly. Opticom does not certify the final installed system unless explicitly stated in writing.
